ARGUS Releases February Business Aircraft Activity
ARGUS TRAQPak data is serial-number specific aircraft arrival and departure information on all IFR flights in the US (including Alaska and Hawaii). The tables below reflect business aircraft activity data for February 1-28, 2011 vs. January 1-31, 2011 and February 1-28, 2011 vs. February 1-28, 2010 respectively. Note: Part 135 charter certificate flight activity reflects flights of aircraft on Part 135 charter certificates irrespective of the mission type. February 2011 flight activity essentially holds steady with January levels. TRAQPak data indicates February business aircraft activity was up only slightly over January at 0.1%. Looking at operational categories, the fractional market segment saw a month over month increase, of 3.3%., Part 91 was essentially flat at .6%, and the Part 135 market was off from January, down -1.9%. Reviewing aircraft categories, the large and mid-size cabin markets saw month over month increases, up 1.0% and 3.2%. Small cabin and turboprops both saw decreases from the previous month, down -1.0% and -1.5% respectively. Comparing year over year results (February 2011 vs. February 2010) aircraft activity was down -0.5%. The Part 135 and fractional markets both saw activity decrease, down -8.7% and -3.0% respectively. The Part 91 segment showed positive results with a 5.8% increase year over year. Reviewing aircraft category results, large cabin and mid-size jets were up 2.5% and 1.3% in that order. The turboprop sector saw a decrease from last February, down -3.1%. Looking at individual market segments, Part 91 small cabin jets showed a strong rebound in activity over last year with an increase of 10.3%. TRAQPak Aircraft Categories
