FlightSafety: New Embraer 170/190 aircraft cabin for flight crew training

FlightSafety International has introduced a new Embraer 170/190 aircraft cabin for use in pilot and flight attendant training at it's St. Louis, Missouri Learning Center.

“This Embraer 170/190 new extended cabin door trainer demonstrates our commitment to provide pilots and cabin attendants with comprehensive emergency training using advanced training equipment that replicates the aircraft they operate,” said Mike King, Director, Business Development.

The cabin trainer will be used to provide transition training and features a replica of the Embraer 170/190 aircraft’s main cabin door and fully outfitted forward section of the fuselage. It is also equipped with over wing and emergency exit doors as well as an extendible main door exit slide which inflates for use during emergency egress training.

A platform can be deployed over the slide to permit training on external main door handle operation. The main door of the cabin trainer is equipped with an advanced electronic door hinge and handle control system. The emergency exit door provides indications to allow cross-checks to be carried out during the scenario-based training.

Both doors feature a visual system which provides out of the window scenes to enhance realism.

FlightSafety is the factory authorized training provider for the majority of Embraer’s commercial and executive jets. FlightSafety offers training for operators of Embraer aircraft at nine Learning Centers located in North and South America, Asia and Europe, using a fleet of 20 full flight simulators and other advanced training devices.
